The Minor

Prerequisite Courses

Students must complete the following prerequisite language courses or their equivalents for all upper-division work in German literature:

First Year German
LIGM 1A/AX or  equivalent
LIGM 1B/BX or  equivalent
LIGM 1C/CX or  equivalent

Second Year German
LTGM  2A  or  equivalent
LTGM  2B  or  equivalent
LTGM  2C  or  equivalent

Minor Courses

Students plan their minor in consultation with their German Studies faculty adviser, and submit it to the program director for approval. All courses taken for the minor must be taken for a letter grade and all courses must be passed with a C- or better. The minor in German Studies consists of seven courses, at least five of which must be upper-division, including:

LTGM 100. German Studies I: Aesthetic Cultures (4) OR LTGM 101. German Studies II: National Identities (4)
